I have been playing snooker for over 25 years, and before I became a qualified snooker coach I was coaching in my spare time as a hobbie. In 2003 I was inspired by Steve Prest (coach to 2005 world champion Shaun Murphy) to become an official qualified snooker coach. I studied snooker techniques with Steve for nearly two years whilst coaching at the same time. I passed the exam set by Steve in 2005, and then passed the WPBSA official coaching exam to become an official Grade A qualified coach in 2007. I was the first and still am the only Chinese Grade A qualified snooker coach.
During these years of coaching I have come across people in different age groups (age range from 8 to 63) and different abilities. In 2008 I became the senior coach to the Hong Kong Youth Snooker Players Club (www.Snooker-sportclub.com). In 2009 I also qualified as an EASB official referee.
